Flameproofing
The Fire Department of New York City (FDNY) enforces regulations that require materials such as rugs, carpets, and curtains in public buildings to be flame proofed if made of combustible materials. Majestic holds a Certificate of Fitness for Flameproofing from the FDNY to apply flame-retardant chemicals and issue flameproofing affidavits. We use non-toxic chemicals approved by the Board of Standards and Appeals and the Health Department for safety, effectiveness, and biodegradability. Flame proofing can be done on-site for certain materials or in our warehouse prior to delivery and installation.
Mothproofing
Rugs and carpets made from wool, silk, and other natural fibers are susceptible to moth damage. Often moths will feed on and lay their eggs within these types of materials. Majestic is trained to repair rugs and carpets that are suffering from moth damage, as well as apply moth protection for new and professionally cleaned floor coverings.
